7 Tips to Grow Your Tiffin Business on Nomio

Nomio Team12 March 20265 min read

You're on Nomio, you've got a few orders coming in, and now you want to grow. Here are seven things that successful Nomio chefs do consistently.

1. Take Better Photos

This is the single biggest lever. Customers decide with their eyes first. You don't need a DSLR — just use your phone with these rules:

  • Shoot near a window for natural light.
  • Use a clean, simple plate on a plain background.
  • Show the full meal — roti, sabzi, rice, dal — arranged neatly.
  • Avoid filters. Real food photos build more trust than polished ones.

2. Rotate Your Menu

Nobody wants the same dal-chawal every day for 30 days. Plan a 7-day rotating menu at minimum. If you offer a monthly plan, aim for a 14-day cycle. Customers stay subscribed longer when there's variety.

3. Be Consistent with Timing

If your plan says "lunch delivered by 1:00 PM", make it happen by 1:00 PM — every day. Consistency builds trust faster than exceptional one-off meals. Set your pickup times realistically, not optimistically.

4. Respond to Customer Notes

When a customer writes "less spice please" or "extra roti", acknowledge it. Small gestures like these turn one-time orderers into long-term subscribers. The personal touch is your biggest advantage over restaurants.

5. Price Fairly, Not Cheaply

Don't race to the bottom on price. Customers who choose home-cooked food value quality over cheapness. Price your meals to cover ingredients, your time, and packaging — and leave room for profit. A ₹80 meal that's genuinely good will outsell a ₹50 meal that's mediocre.

6. Offer a Trial Plan

Create a short 3-day or weekly trial plan at a slightly lower price. This removes the barrier for new customers who want to taste your food before committing to a full month. Most trial customers convert to regular subscribers.

7. Keep Your Profile Updated

Update your meal photos seasonally. Add new dishes when you expand your menu. Respond to reviews — even a simple "thank you" shows you care. An active, updated profile ranks higher in search results and attracts more eyeballs.

The Compound Effect

None of these tips are revolutionary on their own. But do all seven consistently for a month, and you'll see a real difference — more subscribers, better reviews, and higher earnings. The chefs who grow fastest on Nomio aren't necessarily the best cooks. They're the most consistent.
