You've been cooking for your family for years. Neighbours always ask for your recipes. Friends say "you should sell this." With Nomio, you actually can — and it's simpler than you think.
Step 1: Sign Up and Get Verified
Download the Nomio app and register as a chef. You'll need:
- FSSAI registration: This is mandatory for anyone selling food in India. If you don't have one yet, you can apply online — Nomio's support team can guide you through the process.
- ID documents: Aadhaar and PAN for identity verification.
- Kitchen photos: A few pictures of your cooking space to show it's clean and organised.
Verification usually takes 1-2 days. Once approved, you'll see a "Trusted Chef" badge on your profile.
Step 2: Set Up Your Kitchen Profile
This is your storefront. Make it count:
- Profile photo: A clear, friendly photo of yourself — customers want to know who's cooking.
- Kitchen name: Something memorable — "Disha's Home Kitchen", "Mamta Ki Rasoi".
- Cuisines: Tag what you cook best — North Indian, South Indian, Gujarati, etc.
- Service areas: Set the radius you can deliver to.
Step 3: Add Your Meals
List the dishes you want to sell. For each meal:
- Take a good photo (natural light, clean plate — it doesn't need to be professional).
- Write a short description with ingredients.
- Set your price. Look at what other chefs in your area charge for similar meals — Nomio shows you this.
- Set available time slots (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and pickup times.
Step 4: Create Subscription Plans
This is where the recurring revenue comes in. Create a weekly or monthly plan:
- Choose delivery days (e.g., Mon–Sat).
- Pick meal types (lunch, dinner, or both).
- Set a total price for the plan — customers see this upfront.
- Decide if you'll rotate meals daily or follow a fixed menu.
Subscription plans give you predictable income and help you plan ingredients in advance — less waste, more profit.
Step 5: Receive and Fulfil Orders
When a customer orders or subscribes, you get a notification. Your dashboard shows:
- Today's orders with delivery times.
- A prep list so you know exactly what to cook.
- One-tap status updates (preparing → ready → picked up).
Delivery partners handle the last mile — you focus on cooking.
What You Can Earn
Your earnings depend on how many meals you serve. A chef serving 20 meals a day at ₹80 per meal earns approximately ₹48,000/month — working from home, on your own schedule. Many chefs on Nomio do exactly this.
